Hi
I was curious if anyone knows of a smaller cheaper but still reliable chiller. The tank is for a catalina goby, so looking at staying under 70F. Ambient house temperature fluctuate from 82F in the summer to 72F in the winter, with the average being 78F. Tank size will be about 5 gallon as stated in the title, probably closer to 4 gallon after sand, rocks, and possibly diy aio section. The hope is that i dont need a huge chiller

I've seen these little thermo electric coolers work for pico tanks, maybe that could do it?

I seen a couple thread of people recommending this but i havent seen anyone use it and post how it went. Maybe im just searching with the wrong key words. My other worry is just if it'll hold up to saltwater.

I might still take the plunge for $50 ish dollars it's not too bad if it ends up being trash

Id try it, cheapest chiller you'll find will be 150$ or so and those reviews arent all that great at that price point.
Yeah I'd much rather lose $50 over $150. I could have bought a nice mini colony of something with $150 haha.

I'll either update this thread or make a new one with my experience using a peltier cooler if i decide to 100% go thru with this build. Need to see how much everything is going to cost and where im going to put that tank first haha
