Moving to a new apartment and having to downsize to a 20 gallon cube. Already have had it for around a year so excited to get into it but won’t have a sump. Any recommendations for filtration I do want to be able to have LPS in it eventually but for now will just have mushrooms, gsp, clove polyps and zoas

Is there any reason that you would think that lps and sps corals need extra filtration? If you can keep softies then i would suppose you can keep lps and possibly some sps.

Just have had torches die on me with no parameter swings and assumed it was a dosing issue

If no parameter swings then should not need dosing. Can you share your parameters? What type of test kit you are using?
Sorry just at work but off the top of my head nitrate usually between 11-12, ammonia 0, alk 8, salinity 0.025, everything else I’d have to check when I’m home but I use Hanna checkers for everything or let my LFS test sometimes if I want to double check.

That all looks fine to me. Its hard to figure it out after the fact. Sorry you had trouble there but next time you have trouble I suggest to come here, there are lots of torches experts here. Good luck

Popbloom RL 90s and I had a normal small power head on one end of the tank and the hygger aquarium wavemaker on the other end, was a 4 ft long 65 gallon tank
