Was wondering, what do you guys do when you feed fish, corals?

In a smaller tank do you adjust the lights, powerheads or return pumps?

Thanks!

Hi Gaspipe - i just feed them. I have an apex feeder doing two doses of pellets until we get home, then i put a cube of mysis in the little cup (innovative marine feed cup https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/gourmetdefroster-frozenfeeder-auqagadget.html) later in the evening, sometimes... not all the time. Buy ya, lights and pumps all on and it's just enough that all fish get some whether they're in the back corner of the tank or directly under the feeder.

I do pretty much what snowxcross does as well. Auto feed 2x daily with a mix of pellets. Frozen or more pellets later if i feel like it...

I had to change the Apex feeder so it would only dose about 50% of the smallest setting. But I was wondering, do you dose 4x my amount a day in a nano tank? Isn't this way too high for nutrients?

It's a 25g, the pellets are enough to where the 4 fish get a few each. The mysis cube I cut in half and is super small, all fish devour. No issues with nutrients.

The reason I was asking was because if a good habit to do is turn off or lower your return pumps and powerheads. I was considering what options in regards to equipment with a smaller AIO tank.

Does anyone know if a reputable company makes a return pump and powerhead that can both be controlled via app? This could allow me to avoid buying an Apex.

But if normally people don't mess with the flow when feeding... it wouldn't matter.

I really think for fish feeding leave your equipment as is, for coral spot feeding or in general, kill powerheads and return pump if necessary. I don't have any experience other than Apex.
