Yep....another Evo 13.5 build thread.....

About 6 months ago I was thrust into the saltwater world and gifted a complete 180G set up with the only caveat being I had to have it moved out in a week. I'll save that for a whole different thread.....

So after getting the hang of a 180 I figured I would join the nano gang. Main purpose being to serve as a grow out and QT tank for the big one. This will be the first tank I have started from scratch so bear with me.

And off we go.....

The tank was started with the stock filtration, live rock from the 180, 15 lbs of sand, 5 gallons from the 180 and the rest fresh saltwater with Fritz9 bacteria starter added.

I built the stand using leftover butcher block, 2x4s and some edge glued 1" pine as the base. It will be cladded in gray barnwood with one side being removable to access the lower area that will conceal the ATO reservoir.

Tank cycled inside of 2 weeks. Switched over the few corals and other stuff I had in the 180 to do a deep clean and redo the scape.

Mods so far.....
3D printed RFGs and switched to 1/2" loc line.
Tunze pump
InTank chamber 1 basket with floss, chemipure and purigen.
Aqueon 100w heater
Cheapo digital water temp meter

Additions today.....
3 trochus snails and a LED upgrade.

Used a 12" strip of actinic blue 450nm LEDs and connected to a dimmer to tailor to my liking. Mounted the strip to the hood using the angle of the hood to focus it into the tank. It is then plugged in to the cheap Nicrew timer that I am running the stock light through. Definitely not the Radions on my big tank but with a ramp up and down and 2 channels the price fits the job.
