Hey all. Looking to set up a tiny nano for two carpet nems and maybe a few other corals. No fish will probably add hermits and snails for reef upkeep. Anyone have a gallon suggestion? I was looking at an all in one 5 gallon tank. Is this big enough to house the carpet nems? Would put them in my DT but Ive heard horror stories about them not only eating small fish but big ones!

I wouldn't recommend a carpet nem in a nano tank. @Rtaylor @Lost in the Sauce any size recommendations?

Mature tank with sps parameters and very strong lighting is generally needed. Also would recommend having cipro and a hospital tank ready to go.

Yep the can grow large as far as I’ve read but a small nano you would only have to transfer it sooner than later . I love your idea but bigger tank they look stunning when in the correct conditions . Good luck and a photo when you have it all set up would be great

Maybe look at rock flower nems?
That would be a very cool species tank actually!! Might do that for my nano. I want just corals, a crab of some kind and a shrimp for this nano!

Sexy shrimp form a symbiotic relationship with rock flower anemones. Pretty cool to see. Here are a few of mine.

Also considering watchmen goby/pistol shrimp pair as the only “big” fish and invert.

29 AIO or 32g biocube- 45g cube tank ideal. Here was my cube tank:

Beautiful! I have a 32 biocube but its so scratched up from cleaning algae and keeps malfunctioning! Not a fan. I think Im going to go ahead with the 15 gallon nano! I like rock flower nem and sexy shrimp idea a lot!

Porcelain/anemone crabs do the same and are fun to watch sweeping their little fan like arms filtering the water.
