Nano Tank recommendations

Salifert for everything apart from po4 for that I would go Hanna checker 774 as all the tests for po4 are next to impossible to get an accurate reading imo as the colour charts are so hard to read for po4.

Some will recommend hanna for alk and nitrate, I would only go for those options if you hate reading a colour chart, the alk is very slightly easier to do with the hanna, no more accurate and the nitrate is good but the reagents are on the expensive side, definitely more accurate than salifert as the pink colour chart is not easy to read but nitrate is not too critical, so many are happy with salfert but hanna is definitely worth getting for nitrate if you have a little extra money, alk checker I have but went back to salifert, the reagents for the alk checker can give different resding depending how old the reagent is and how much is left in the bottle and also from bottle to bottle.
Thank you I’m going to check them out!

I’ll start off by trying out Salifert ammonia//nitrate/nitrites during the cycle process.

Excellent choice. What I like about the Hello Reef systems is that they come with premium equipment from premium manufacturers rather than a bunch of lower quality 'check the box' type gear.
That’s what I read— but I’ve also read that equipment would be needing upgrading. I found that with all AIO though which is why I went with this one for now. :)

I am on the hunt for a glass cover. Any idea on where to get one for this nano?

Don’t bother testing nitrate until you get a nitrite reading then when nitrite goes to zero you can then test nitrate, as any nitrite in the water will show as nitrate in the nitrate test.

I would not be quick to 'upgrade' equipment on the tank. The gear that comes with the Hello Reef is all premium quality. Can you buy better, or just as good but cheaper? Of course if you have enough experience to reap the wheat from the chaff. I would also give the AI Blade light a chance. I have two on my lagoon 100 gallon as supplementals and they are very good lights. There are others that are better and others that are just as good that cost less but they are very good lights and will grow coral.

I can't help on the glass top as I don't like glass tops on marine tanks personally. I prefer Polycarbonate/Mesh lids for a marine tank. For those I would suggest either Octo Aquatics or Kraken Reef. I have a Kraken Reef on my Waterbox 15 and will attest to its quality. Many of the Polycarb lid makers already make stock lids for many nanos including the Hello Reef ones. The lids are not cheap but they are ultimately worth it in my opinion. Have a feed cup hole included as part of the lid. You'll thank yourself later.

All the best and Happy New Year.

Oh the ones by kraken reed is exactly what I need. They offer the top cover to help with the evaporation. Is this also what you have— and do you find it helpful?

The cup hold feeding corner will come in handy!

I had to look up the evaporation cover. I don't think it was an option when I ordered my lid. I'm not really a fan of closed lids on marine tanks. I feel they can use all of the gas exchange they can get so I always run some kind of a mesh, slotted or open top on marine tanks. I just use an ATO to replace the evaporation. I'm sure though that the cover would work fine and with the open AIO section the gas exchange is probably more than adequate. I'm just old school...

Don't forget to get the feed cup. Kraken Reef prints nice ones. Good luck and start a build thread. Once you start the thread, the All In One Aquariums (AIO) forum would be most appropriate, you can put the link to your thread in your profile. Then when you post people will be able to click the button in your user pane to go to your build thread. A build thread is a great place to get advice and encouragement as well as make new friends.

Bought an IM 15 AIO prior Christmas thinking I'd set it up on my desk but new oversized monitor jinxed that however seems to be a perfect size and can be had usually for $99 complete with pump and just add lights. Was considering Water
Box but like the design of the IM where there's a lip for overflow back into the display. Can't go wrong with either.

Did consider the Fluval for a moment but seems the other two option for me were superior as I'm not sure what glass used on the Fluval and tired of looking living art through a green tint.
