Im building a nano tank and I’m curious about the safety factor on it. Multiple sites have said my safety factor is around 2.5. However I’m also planning on euro bracing it. The tank size is 12in cubed. Water level will be around 9-10 inches. My glass varies from 2.12-2.3 mm thick, I plan on doing a 1in euro brace. From my guestaments my safety factor should be around 4, does this sound right? And would you trust it? Worst case I’ll turn the glass into sump baffles. I do plan on bracing the bottom as well, I do some wood working so I’m building a nice wood frame for the bottom which will have some foam to support the bottom.

Welcome to R2R...
Best of luck to you with the tank and whatever you decide to stock it with!
The one thing I know for certain is, you will enjoy it here and R2R is a repository for great help, guidance and information!
Is this the first time you have had an aquarium at some level?
Nano tanks are more challenging to maintain than larger tanks!
Go slow and reap the benefits of this awesome hobby.

It’s deffinetly not my first tank, I currently have a reef tank. I have a ton of freshwater experience, I also have a 30 gallon rasbora and blue dream shrimp tank. Started with 5 Shrimp and I now have over 100, and 5 more pregnant females. I want to build a larger tank eventually, I just wanted some experience building a tank first.
