I am wanting to add a HOB refugium to my nanocube 28 gallon tank. I am looking at the model listed below for BRS. I was just curious if anyone has used a similar setup on their tank before. I am mainly wanting it for nutrient export and a source of pods for the tank. I would like to get a mandarin if I can get a good pod population, but I will have to see what kind of pod growth I can get before I add the mandarin. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Matched with the right lighting these work perfect. And at over 10% of your water volume would work great for you :) look into the blue and red led strips on Amazon. They can be gotten fairly inexpensively.

Thanks for the reply. I like the idea of adding increased volume to my tank. I was also thinking of adding some marine pure balls to the fuge for another place for the pods to live an breed. I will try some of those lights from amazon. Any tricks on how to mount them to the fuge?

I don't know about the hob fuge, never ran one... I made this chaeto reactor from a Somatic UF-1 and a 3' led strip. I removed the two sided tape and zip tied it in place. I just loaded it with chaeto today, so I can't say how the light holds up but it's pretty bright for how cheap it was.

I have watched the you tube videos on how to build the macro reactor and I may go that route if I don't add the fuge. I like the idea of the reactor. It seems like it would work well.
