Nassarius Snails eat algae?

I know that nassarius snails help stir up the sanded and eat detritus. But do they eat algae? Someone gave me there snails that they didn’t want and most are nassarius. I have a bare bottom tank as well as a 40 gallon with a sanded.

I believe that they're carnivorous. They mainly eat meaty detritus, uneaten fish food, etc. I don't think you want them for algae control.
