So I have been looking at getting a custom tank made (66"×30×24), well last night me and the wife were at the LFS, she didn't want something huge , we were considering a 120 corner flow, then she saw an SR80 and pretty much fell in love to the point she was asking questions about equipment (which has never happened). So I wantted a larger tank but this tank just looks so clean

So we got the SR 80
The ghost skimmer
Eheim 200 watt
Orbit IC pro
RO/DI (not looking forward to work under my sink)
Sand
Basic test kit for now
Looking at refractometers

Electrician is coming out Saturday to run a dedicated circuit

May get the arm mounts for the orbits(not sure on this yet)

Not sure if we are going to need power heads or not and (if so We will get the ones that hook to orbit)what size if so, thoughts?

May order the DC replacement pumps, not sure how noisy the stock ones are yet

Any equipment I am missing?

Hopefully will be wet this weekend
And just cause folks like pics here is one

Nice tank! It's always more enjoyable when your other 1/2 is into the hobby. Congrats on both wins!

Amazing tank! You both are going to love it when it's all set up:) tagging along! Only thing I can suggest is swapping out the ghost skimmer for a Tunze, MUCH better skimmer in the long run.

Will keep that in mind.

Hoping to get ro/di hooked up between now and Saturday, also trying to figure out how want to mount a board for the light controller thinking an acrylic sheet with magnets.

You have a smart wife, lol! I have the sr80 and absolutely love it. I have softies and euphyllias so i run about a medium flow. I use 4 hydor koralia nanos with the stock returns. My returns are very quiet. I also have a tunze 9004 skimmer, I've heard not so good things about the IM ghost. I replaced the socks with media baskets and run floss (aka pillow stuffing) in the top and chaeto in the bottoms. I use the chaetomax leds. In the middle chamber with the returns i was able to fit a two little fishies gfo reactor.

How do you have the stuff inside your stand mounted ?I am really hung up on this , about to order a piece of 12x12 black acrylic, but trying to figure out how to mount inside stand.

May do the cheato in the future.

I didn't go with aps stand. Mine is a diy build with shelves.
On Facebook there's an Innovative Marine tank owners group. In there i saw IM is coming out with shelving kits for their aps stands. If you have Facebook you should join. There's a IM representative in there that can help with any issues or questions.

Electrician was in today ran a dedicated 20amp circuit.

Got the fittings in for rodi unit, still working out a mounting solution ,may just build a stand under the sink screwed to the bottom of cabinet.

Mounted the brackets for the light controller, and ran some of the cords ,finding out my cable management skills still suck. Lol

Talking kitchen sink here guess I should have specified, which had plenty of wasted space (corner cabinet)
Probably just go buy some 1x and work it out lol
