Hmmmm a hawk fish?guess what I would suggest?
Yea they are beautiful but I have shrimp and I would be very sad if they got eaten.Dwarf lionfish seen some in my lfs beautiful little things and apparently safe if well fed
Really want something colorful and active that is reef safe for a 40b, suggestions please!
I don't think that's a good fit for a 40 gallon since they grow to be nearly 4 feetPilot fish. They are both colorful and active but they might outgrow a 40 gallon in a few years. People are always looking for larger pilot fish so it will be very easy to get rid of.
Hawkfish are ambush predators I thinkHe might eat a sexy shrimp dont think he'd manage anything bigger aren't hawkfish pod feeders like mandarins
They average over 3', a healthy baby pilot should outgrow a 40b in a matter of weeks.I did say he will have to get rid of it in a couple of years. On average pilot fish are 2ft. Seeing a 4ft pilot fish is like seeing an 8ft man.
You're right, they 'swoop down' much like a hawk. Though IME flame hawks have been fine with cleaner, blood and peppermint shrimp.Hawkfish are ambush predators I think
