I just made the switch to salifert tests and I can not make sense of the tests where you have to read using the syringe/piston. I can do the test I'm just not sure im reading the results right, im more of a learner by looking type. If you wouldn't mind could you post a pic of your result and reading so I can understand how to read them. Thank you

Pull the pin back to where it shows 1ml actually a hair or two behind the 1ml mark. There should be about .84ml of fluid in the syringe, and the rest above will be air. Sometimes you will have to pull it back and if the desired amount is not right just squirt it back in the bottle till you get it right.

@dragon99 that's perfect. Do you read it like that for all the salifert tests that have to be read like that with that syringe?

Yes you read all the test like that with the syringe. Also, there is no need to try and get the air bubble out of the syringe when you put the tip on.

What are you talking about? I never heard of anyone taking the tip off. That would mess up the amount of fluid you pull back and the reading on the syringe. I guess if you got that down then ok, but I wouldn't do that.

@CoralNerd I think he was just telling me not to worry about the air bubble in the syringe with the pink tip on it. That's how I took it. There was a video I watched where they left the pink tip off of the syringe but I don't plan on leaving it off I'm leaving it on per directions

I never said take the tip off. Some people will worry about the little bubble when the fill the syringe and try and get it out.
