Need a new tank quick...but

My 5 month old 40 breeder which I drilled and am running a sump, has a nice big crack in the back wall (not near the overflow, go figure).

Im thinking for time and ease, of just getting a biocube. Obviously I'll lose some volume but I'm ok with that.

Couple of questions though. Does the lid detach easily? Id prefer to stick with one of my Hydra led's if possible just hung above or build a canopy to house it. Or would a fusion 25g be a better aio?
Also, to avoid or help avoid a cycle, should I go with dry sand and transfer everything else? Or?

What about just getting another 40B and putting something like a prebuilt AIO filter in it? I have seen pre-drilled 40Bs but not often..if you can find a 65 gal its similar dimensions to the 40B and maybe you could use your sump set up you already have on that? Not sure how tied you are to what you have or just want to start over/smaller.

Haven't had a biocube myself but my friends with them ended up not liking them and switching. Problems like not having the biocube parts or having to stick with their specific equipment to fit, etc.

I have an IM AIO 20L set up and it's a pretty solid little tank. room in back for customization.

I have a BioCube 32-gal. and IM 20-gal. I think the IM would fit your needs better, in terms of lighting options. Of course, a bigger IM all-in-one would be even better (just not on your wallet. LOL.)

a few months ago I transferred my 40B into a 75 and just took all I could, rock + sand and didn't have an issue, granted that's into a bigger system. I know some folks don't like to use the sand and just take their live rock or they clean it really well before transfer.. No matter what I like to have some MicroBacter7 on hand to help things along.
