Need advice for cycling

I got a fluval evo 13.5 with dry rock and dry sand. I have decided to start cycling with the turbo fritz 900 but i dont know which ammonia source i have to use (dead shrimp or ammonia chloride from dr tim) and how long do i need to dose these.

When I did mine I'd just use leftover fish food I had from my cichlid.

I prefer to just add food and let it decay. I like my cycle to be as short as it can be but also as natural as it can be.

Welcome to R2R. With fritz turbo id grab a cpl small hermits and feed them a cpl small mysis a few times a day for a cpl days you should be good to go if your only stocking a cpl small fish to start with.:)

Yes you just add the ammonia once on the 1st day to get the level to 2ppm and wait for the bacteria to colonize and bring the ammonia down to zero. I never saw nitrite during my cycle but did see nitrate.
