So, I used two part epoxy to mount some frags and my Reef Octopus essence p130 went nuts- still going nuts.... I removed most of the epoxy and used coral super glue. Did a small water change, but skimmer still not functioning properly. I am running Granulated carbon in a reactor to try and help. How long does this go on ? Do I need to keep doing water changes? What percentage of tank water being changed would fix the issue? Thanks in advance for any advice or help! :)

Epoxy will make your skimmer go crazy. Unfortunately, patience is your only resolve. It will eventually die down. Takes a little while. I stopped using epoxy and just use super glue. Works better and tighter hold.

I’m assuming the skimmer is broken in.
I’ve never had this problem, but it is an issue nonetheless.
Did you mix the two part in the tank? Also, like Mal above said, super glue is best. I just use a pea size amount of epoxy to hold the frag in place while the super glue dries.
Try using both.

I have learned my lesson [emoji33] the hard way.... [emoji30] also how long will it last, and do I turn off or leave skimmer running with it just draining back into sump? During the day I pulled out several gallons via the crazy skimmer and did an impromptu water change.... helped a little bit still skimmer is out of sorts.

I used way too much two part - I since have pulled it out- too late for the skimmer. Just want to know how long this goes on for....

It will take time, instead if crazy water changes, your skimmer is actually trying tk remove what ever it is for you, just pay attention to the cup for the small duratiin set it to a very dry skim state, meaning the water line as low as it can go.

Unfortunately even at the lowest setting and set high in sump, it still is pulling like crazy- way too much....

You can let the skimmate just overflow back into the sump. Should be fine. Almost like your skimmer is breaking in again. Hopefully by tomorrow, your skimmer can be readjusted to skim properly.
