Not necessarily. If you run carbon it could be removed. Also, rocks and substrate absorb it. So when your ATO malfunctioned and dumped water (assuming this is what happened)...when you went to correct it, you could very well have put in enough copper to make it lethal for certain things.

The action level was 1.3. If you read the fine print it states that copper was only detected in 12 of 30 samples and none of which exceeded the action level of 1.3. It also stated that the contamination was most likely due to homeowners old copper piping. Just an FYI. I don't think it's the copper in the tap that is killing everything, but I would reccommend getting and RODI filter.

I’ll be very happy if I am wrong but not even in my time automating clean water production we never once used it for that. I am honestly hoping that I am wrong :)

As a general rule of thumb i dont i sometimes go 6 months with the same carbon i just rinse with hot water rinse again with prime and right back into the filter havent had issues yet

+1 to the above. My carbon lasts for months without a hot water soak already.
Then again different grades of carbon with different size pores for soaking up different things wont all be the same.

But if i was trying to remove toxins from the water or after a really nasty water change i would discard the pellets and refill with fresh.
Im pretty guilty of spraying aerosols in the same room from time to time.

Cool stuff but it is not the same carbon used for our reef tanks or human water consumption. It might work.

Id leave it. Dont risk any further stress. Keep special attention to your water parameters and remove anything if it dies completely.

Thats a good thing. Hoping for the best. Nobody likes losing corals. I remember losing a torch a long time ago and since ive never bought any euphyllia for fear of the same thing happening. Found out it was just low alk tho lol.

Will start taking ! The bad head of the hammer stop losing tentacles last week and has been the same. How long will it take to recover? I’ve read it should take about 6 weeks or so, depending on the tank.

Everyone is doing good but Xenia, My cleaner shrimp even molted. The hammer is doing okay opening back up little by little.
