Second guessing myself and wondering if someone that has this tank could measure the bottom to see if it's exactly 48" by 24". The plastic bottom trim is throwing me off. Want to make sure that it'll fit my stand as it's exactly 48" by 24".

I don't have it yet but just thought of this...

Thank you for your help.

Thank you so much. Really appreciate it. How it sits do you think I would have an issue if the top of the stand is exactly 48" by 24"? Here is a pic of the stand for reference.

I'm not sure if it will be an issue or not. You are only talking 3/16" on all four sides so the glass would technically be supported. Could you purchase a piece of metal or wood to place on top of your stand that's 48 3/8x24 3/8? I would hate for you to have a failure on a brand new tank.

Thank you for your response. That's what I am thinking as a worse case. I asked the LFS as well to see what Deep Blue has. I do t think they make one without the bottom trim. Appreciate all your help.

Did you build that stand? Also what sump is that?

Yea I built the stand out of 80/20 t-Slot Aluminum and I ordered the sump from Advanced Acrylics. I wanted an open sump look and not have to crawl under the stand to the sump.

There's gotta be a solution but i have no experience there. You'll want something strong, might not show wear now but long term for those seals can't be good
Hear ya and thank you. Hopefully I get good news from the LFS. If not I'm going to have to go with the 1/2" acrylic to that size or find a tank that matches that exactly.

Thank you all for your help.

How about incorporating a nice shelf? Mine current 65 rimless (used) stand has a 4" shelf all the way around. Wasn't sure about it but it's awesome. Can work on and feed tank easily. That way it looks like you designed it that way.

I keep thinking that but I would need to buy a more 80/20 to build around it to keep it in theme. The cost of 80/20 is almost as much as the tank itself. I'm not sure what to do...

You can certainly go with a custom tank which you could get setup for the Ghost style overflow. Can't wait to switch mine over to that someday.

True. I want to but a fight over a 1/2" costing an extra 400$ or so a pain. The marine land 120 is apparently 48 x 24. Another option is the innovative marine sr80 and smashing the AIO out and drilling it. I did that on my 30L. I do want the ghost overflow.

Or order a full rimless tank. The reason the deep blue tanks are a bit bigger is due to the rim at the bottom.

True but I don't want to spend all that additional to order a custom tank. 250$ for the tank and a starboard counter top 150$ a good custom would be 2x that if not more. Trying to keep the cost down but it's not looking that way. Shame over a 1/2".
