Hey guys,
I’m planning on adding a UV steriliser to my Reefer S-1000 tank. Complete system volume is 1000 litres, after you subtract aquascaping/substrate it should be around 850 litres.
I’ve actually already bought a Deltec (D-D) 39W UV steriliser. It has a 2000 ltr./h flow rate and is rated for tanks up 1000 ltr./h if they’re normally stocked. For the pump I went with a tmc 4000 with minimum flow rate of 1500 ltr./h
Is the above UV steriliser sufficient? As per my understanding the flow rate needs to be much lower to sterilise ich than what my pump offers. Should I switch to a TMC 2000 pump which has minimum flow rate of 500 ltr./h?
I do plan to hang it horizontally above my sump. I read that it this way it might trap air bubbles but I also saw someone from Deltec mention that if you install a spacer on the inlet side (causing it to slightly tilt) then it should take care of that. Is this correct?
