Hey team I’ve had a recent pathogen pop up in my tank that I need help figuring out how to treat. About two weeks ago three of my nine fish (kole tang, royal gramma, and clownfish) started showing signs of what I thought at first was ich. I started looking to source meds but within 48 hours all fish were clear of spots and no other symptoms became present. All other fish did not show signs of illness and the three infected ones continued to eat and behave normally. Almost two weeks later the kole tang and clown are showing white spots again but again eating well and not showing any other symptoms. I’m now setting up a 56 gallon QT and plan to pull and treat all fish but honestly am not sure what I’m working to eradicate. Currently have prazi, cupramine, multiple antibiotics, and now reef rally on hand. I’m trying to see if I can get some CP within a reasonable amount of time to use in place of the copper. Plan is to do 90 minute baths in the rally and then transfer to QT and start a copper treatment. Can I also dose the prazi with the cupramine or is this too much? Just trying to cover all my bases.

Clowns we generally think white spots are Brook. Do the grama and kole both have similar looking spots?

If so it may be velvet. You would not want to combine prazi and cupramine. Do a 5min FW dip, then 90 min rally bath, followed by placing them in QT and ramping up copper over 48hrs.

You may want to add Metroplex as well to cover Brook. If you get CP it covers both velvet and Brook.

Can you upload pics of other fish?

I’ll try to get one of the kole tang since it’s the only other one showing anything now but unfortunately she never stays still long enough to get a decent shot. I thought possibly brook too which was why I was hoping to get the CP but figured the rally could at least help with it. Would the fish have stopped showing symptoms with velvet?

It's possible to come and go at first. Especially if the fish are healthy.

I’ll keep trying to get CP then so I can go right to a therapeutic dose as soon as the QT is ready in case it is velvet. I have metroplex already, that will be ok to dose with the copper or CP as well?

It's ok to mix metro and copper. It's not necessary to add it to CP. CP already covers Brook.
