Hi there,

I seem to be having a slight bloom of algae in my tank. It looks red in my tank which makes me believe it’s cyano but it’s not like slimy, more like hair algae.

I have included a picture of the algae under the microscope and what it looks like under white light. Let me know if anyone needs a better picture.

Looks like a dinoflagellate. Try capturing a larger sample of the organism in a larger drop water on the slide

I’ll try to get a bigger clump tomorrow. I just cleaned the tank out so there isn’t too much left.

Anyone have any idea what type of algae this is? Let me know if you need to take some more pictures.
