Hi all,

I've been battling this for a year now and I'm not sure what else to do to get rid of it. I can brush it off but it comes back within a week. I run chemipure and phosphate remover. I was hoping someone may be able to help identify it and recommend actions to reduce it. It grows like a translucent brown carpet and can get stringy.

Alk: 6 (little low)
Calcium: 420
Phosphate: .02
Nitrate, nitrite: 0
PH: 8.2

Edited to fix pictures

You have not allowed public viewing of your photos,

BUT

based on your low nutrient levels and the description provided, you are likely dealing with dino's. Get that NO3 up to 5-10, and basically just keep phosphate above 0. See if that helps over a few weeks. :)

Thanks, updated the pictures to fix it. Based on the pictures I've seen of dinos it doesn't look quite the same. I tried dosing for NO3 at one time but it never showed any uptick during testing. I was thinking the algae is using it up at the time. I'll try increasing that to see if it helps.

Do you quarantine new coral before adding it to your reef tank?
