Need help installing the VCA Random Flow Generator

Hey everyone,
I have a Red Sea 425 G2 and just received the VCA Random Flow Generator (the 1/2" upgrade kit). I’m using the 2025‑050 multi‑adapter, but when I try to connect it to the Red Sea return nozzle, it just won’t fit correctly - no matter how hard I push.

From the reviews and the VCA website, it seems like this should be a super simple install, but for some reason I just can’t get it to attach properly. I’m sure I’m missing something obvious.

I attached a video showing what happens when I try to install it.
Really hoping someone here (or @Vivid Creative Aquatics) can point out what I’m doing wrong or explain how to get it connected properly.

In the video it appears that the end you're trying to put into your return is a barbed fitting. This is meant to have a rubber or silicone hose put on it. Your return is set up to accept slip fittings.
You'd likely have to get a slip x lock line adaptor, or thread x lock line adaptor and change the return to a threaded outlet

Sorry for the slow reply - I ussually get notifed via email when someone tags us here on R2R, but for some reason I didnt today - I appolize for that.

I watch your video and you are on the right path - that adapter does in fact plug into the outlet in the manner shown. You may just need to push it in a litte harder.

If that fails, and it could, since Red Sea parts can actually have a pretty wide variance - then we have another solution we can try

This Multidapter fitting is the one that comes in our dual 3/4in Flow Kit - it's designed to slip-fits over the pipe outlet, as opposed to fitting inside the pipe.

Multidapter 3035-075 – 30-35mm Pipe to 3/4in Loc-Line Adapter

The 3035-075 Multidapter has a 3/4in ball connector, but one of the neat features of our Multidapter system is that you can plug a Multidapter into the ball-connector side of the next size up. So, a 2025-seresi (the one you have) with a 1/2in loc-line connector will plug into a Multidapter with a 3/4in Loc-line connector.



If you want to give that a try, I would be happy to comp a few of those adapters to you for just the cost of shipping.

Thanks! You’re amazing. That last photo really clarified how far I should push it.

You can also try to put the red sea part in very hot water for a minute and then push the adapter in.

I also followed @TangerineSpeedo’s tip and warmed the VCA multi‑adapter in hot water first.
After that, I pushed firmly and it finally snapped into place.

One side is in! I’ll give the system a few days to adjust to the new flow before hooking up the left side as well.
