So I was sitting there gazing into my tank as I always do and noticed a mortal enemy scurrying around in my rocks. Yep a little mantis shrimp about 2 inches long. Does anyone have a trap or or some advice to get rid of this little beast. I was wonding where all of these broken hermit crab shells were coming from. I have lost two small fish as well. Thanks for any advice or help.

They're pretty bold, especially when they're hungry. It shouldn't be that difficult to trap.

You can put your hand in there and wiggle your finger around like it's a worm and when it comes out grab it.

If the rocks are not bounded together you could put the rock in carbonated water for a few min which could chase out the mantis but will have die off in the rock or you could use a plastic bottle cut off the top & invert the top so that it faces in & if you will to sacrifice a hermit then put it in the bottle & leave it there until caught...
