Yup, I have never seen a rotundaflora with a prominant green rim. Is it possible to get a better close up of the 3 polyp section Matt?

Just b/c you haven't seen one with a green rim doesn't mean its not one. You see new things everyday. I still don't think its a chalice. Look at the aims link I posted it looks and sounds just like a rotundoflora. Also its rotundoflora not rotundaflora.

I have been researching this coral since I received it and would have to disagree with. I have sent several pictures to some experts and they all say it's a chalice. But we are getting of track, the point of the thread is to name this beautiful coral not to identify it.

Thanks

My pumpkin patch from diamondsinthereef has a green rim and is a rotundaflora. This is a older picture but it has a bright green rim.I think yours looks more like a chalice.Whatever it is its very nice.

Sweet Reply Texas....Thanks for the post! I think once we get a nice close up pic we may be able to make a clearer determination.
