Hi everyone,

I’m a little confused about how to read my Aquaforest KH test kit and would appreciate some help.

I’ve attached a photo of my test result, including the syringe and the value chart. I’m not entirely sure how to interpret the remaining liquid volume or the volume until the black part of the syringe to calculate the KH value.

Thanks

I use the same test, set but way to read the syringe is similar to other brands or test set with a syringe.
Your reading is 0,64 equals a KH value of 5,0
But it looks strange / wrong that you have all this air in the syringe, if I see the picture right and there is 5 ml of air...

Do I need to raise kH?If I should, how can I raise kH during cycle? Thanks

Hold on. There may be a syringe reading issue.

Did you start with the plunger all the way at zero before you drew up any fluid?

When you drew up fluid, did you draw all the way until the leading edge of the black plunger was at 1.00?

And then you dispensed fluid to the color change endpoint?

Assuming so, since it now reads 0.65 mL, you added 0.35 mL of titrant.

If that is all true, then the alk is quite low. So
Low that I’d want to double check the procedure by doing the same test in some new salt water.
