Need help Storage barrels .

I came accross these barrels . I wanted to know if they are safe to store ro/di water . Has anybody use this type of barrel ? Do they leach any bad stuff .

Are they used? If so then smell inside them. I they smell like food ( pickles, peppers, juice, syrup etc) then they most likely are food grade and safe.
I use similar barrels, however mine have a clamp on lid and are more aggressively tapered on the top and bottom. They also smelled heavily of greek peppers.
You could also contact the manufacture noted on the label.

My friend told me they have never been used . If I call the company would I just ask if they leach out chemicals ?

Appears to be made of HDPE which is safe- (same as starboard used in BB setups)

Unless something toxic was stored in them you should be good go!

I use the same barrels for mixing my saltwater up in.. if they are new like you say... they are good to go!

I got some from a local cheese factory that stored balsamic vinegar. I also have one from a vitamin factory which had dish soap this one I don't use. They look identical thou so try to find out what they were used for.
