Hi everyone,
I have this pan world pump that I want to connect to a water tank with vinyl tubing. I want to be able to disconnect the pump from the tank also. The pump has a 1” male threaded inlet and outlet.
Can I use a female threaded barb fitting to connect directly to the tubing?
The water tank is already equipped with a union ball valve. Here’s some pics...I feel like one threaded fitting is too simple.

Note I have the other side of the union connected to 1” vinyl tubing, it’s just not pictured.

That is all you need. You could put a union on the pump and use a male threaded barb if you wanted to be able to break the connection right at the pump.

I just ordered a Pan World 200ps and I also order 2 unions, slip and thread. I plan on screwing on the union on the inlet and outlet. You could install a barbed bushing in the slip side of the union.
