Need help with reassembling impeller of skimmer pump (Deltec 400i)

Hi guys,

my Deltec 400i skimmer was making some noise so i decided to take the skimmer apart and clean it.

I took out this rubber piece part in front of the impeller but now i forgot which way should i put it back.

Is it this way? (the rubber surface part at the back, the plastic part at the front)

Or this way? (the other way around)

in the manual, it‘s only showing the big parts and i couldnt find any instruction video about the assembly of small components like this one.
I‘m hoping that someone could help me before i destroy the skimmer

Glad you figured it out. How do you like this skimmer? Is it really just 4,5"-ish wide?

yes it has a small footprint, length about 7“ and width 4.5“ It fits perfectly in my reefer 170 sump. I‘m not sure if i like it yet, im still cycling my tank and still trying to tune it in. It‘s also making noise so i raised it about 0.5“ and it reduced the noise abit. I guess i‘ll tune it again when i have bioload in there
