Need Help With Spectrapure ATO

I have had the Spectrapure UPLC-II ato for 2 years and never set it up. I don't understand how it works with pressure tubes, peristaltic pump, and amount of cycles per minute.

I've tried calling & emailing Spectrapure for the past year and haven't gotten one response. The company is terrible in after sale support.

I can set it up 3 ways... I ran a 1/4" tube from the basement to the floor above where the tank is. I would like it to pull water from my rodi 44 gal. resevoir can to a bucket by the tank, then have like a Tunze go from the bucket to the tank for top off.

Or, can I use it to pull from the basement right to the sump (not connected directly to rodi system)? I can also use it from a bucket instead of the tunze and just manually fill the bucket.

Mine came with the suction cups for the 2 pressure tubes, but I have Zoo-Med Mag-clips I'm going to use instead of the suction cups.

Does anyone know how to set this up or know what the cycles per minute thing does? I need a detailed way on how this operates.

I have the manual. I just don't get how it operates, and they don't explain the "up to 10 cycles per minute" thing either, just that it does it.

I would like to have it pull RODI water from my 44gal can in the basement and use it as an ato into my sump. I ran the 1/4" ro tubing from the basement to the tank area. So I plug the basement ro line into the pump, then setup the sensors (which I don't understand how they work and if them getting any air or debris in the pressure tubes affects anything in regards to the water level).

Then there's the settings on the unit. I don't know what "cycles per minute" means. It basically says you can have the pump come on a set amount of times and then also the cycles per minute. So it makes it sound like the pump is always spinning, but only lets water through at certain times. I don't know how to keep the water at a constant level with both tubes because they're different sizes and go in different locations.

I've never used a peristaltic pump/controller before, especially using pressure as the gauge, as opposed to optical or floats.

That's why I wanted to see if anybody had one and how they set it up. What steps they took and what does what.

For ato purposes, you want to operate it in fill mode and set at 10, which is always on. Set the high/low water levels for the pressure tube as shown in the instruction book. The small float switch is a backup and should be positioned above the pressure tube.

So when you refer to the backup float switch, are you referring to the smaller pressure tube?

The uplc 2 has a float switch. Sounds like you have the newer model uplc-ato. That model has a smaller pressure tube as a back up. In that case, it should have also come with a magnetic plastic holder for both pressure tubes.

Just opened the package and there is no smaller tube, my mistake. It is a float switch. I was looking at the picture of the newer one because I thought the only difference was the magnetic mount, guess not.

So when you're setting the high and low levels, can you leave the tube in the same spot to keep the difference in level the smallest? Or do you have to slightly adjust the tube for a difference?

I’m also trying to figure out how to calibrate my two sensor tubes. I’ve read the manual many times and I still don’t understand how to set up the low and high points. Can someone please dumb this down for me? Thank you
