This is my first scape ever. I'm limited with the rocks that I have, so here is what I've come up with. I overall am okay with it, though I think more height on one side would look better? Thoughts?

I agree with your thought. Can that roundish rock on the right be moved to the far left?

That is going to look good! Are you going to glue them together?

Yes, using Marco's e-400. I'm surprised that friction and gravity kept everything in place overnight.

It looks very good. Here's a suggestion pointing out the lines that are working well and the others that can easily be improved (red to yellow).

Another idea is to leave it as it is and let the corals change those horizontal and vertical lines.

Thanks! I think I will leave this formation and play with the other two formations some more.

Just rearranged mine for about the fourth time this month lol. It’s starting to get a little frustrating. Any suggestions? Thanks

Also, I want to mention that this rock is not really porous. I’m not sure if I want to put it in the sump or leave it.

This way you open up the cave on the right and the left structure gets a more interesting contour (the right side of the cave will be close to the front than the left side).

Looking forward to seeing it put together!

Thanks for the feedback! Were you thinking of adding the rock to the top of the left pile or where you drew the arrow towards?

Yep, it’s a pain to aquascape [emoji23]
Yeah I feel you. Took me a long time to figure something out. Tried many different things. Ended up with 3 islands.

Top one looks better here. That rock you added to the left isnt blending in at all on the bottom pic. You would have to do some more rearranging to make that work. Back to the top pic, maybe try moving the extra rock around a bit and see how it looks ie. On the left of the structure or maybe as a small island somewhere between the structures.

I agree, the rock in the bottom pic doesn’t blend in at all. I will mess with it more tomorrow. Thanks for the help

Working on my build thread now, 36 x 18 x 18 SPS tank.

Thoughts on this scape?

Here's an idea. Move that rock to the top left. That will open up that bay and create an area with more height on the left.

You can then place a small isolated rock (or coral) in the bay.

Should be doable, it was partially supporting the structure on the right but that structure is all held together with Bond now so it shouldn't need it.

Cheers!

I'm going to try to break up some of the existing live rock in my tank to redo my current aquascape. Will this cause any issues?

Hi,

I'm planning to change the scape with the current rock and might add a bit more, but not much. Because I want to save space for fish. Please help.

Please note the tall one is a block.
Thanks,

Hi all,

Got up early today and decided to open the boxes of Marco Rocks sitting that have been looking at me for a few weeks. This is a Reefer 350 with 75lbs of rocks, wanting to be a mixed reef with SPS predominance in the future. Given that this is my first attempt, I would like your opinions on two different aquascape configurations below.
