My tank crashed 2 months ago, feeder malfunction while I was on a 2 week vacation. I put the tank back together with new sand and I used my live rock, after scrubbing in fresh water. It went through the cycle and everything was doing good until about 3 weeks ago the live rock started getting green algae on it, not hair algae, a bright green algae. I need to clean the algae, how would go about cleaning the rock? Thanks.

You can scrub it off with a toothbrush and at the same time vacuuming it out as part of water changes. The long term solution would be to have a refugium as the green alage will continue to grow as long as the nutrients are in the water. There are also many things that can help to absorb nutrients using a media reactor or some of the absorption pads. Some people have had good experiences with products like Vibrant, I tried it but, I killed my cleaner shrimp so use it with caution. My Refugium solved my issue and the Tangs keep it in check.
Good luck - Norm

Thanks I started running GFO in a reactor and I will scrub the rock.
