Hi all. I have a 65 DT tank with a 20high sump. DT is doing great corals all seem happy. In my sump I have a reddish color growth that holds a lot of air bubbles that is over taking everything including my Mexican caulerpa . I also have some red macro algae growing on a clip suctioned to the glass so the red air bubble stuff hasn’t gotten there. The red stuff is mainly growing on the xport bio block that I have in the sump and that is where the cualerpa is also. It used to just be green hair algae and cualerpa growing together but no all the green hair is mostly gone and it’s covered with the red stuff. I run a luxbird waterproof refugium light on a night schedule over the sump.

the first pic is the red stuff the second is the macroalge that I wanna keep growing. The third are my tank parameters as of yesterday. The only that has really changed was magnesium that was 1160 a few weeks ago and I have raised it to 1440. My first thought was to turn off the refugium light but that would hurt the macro.

none of it is in the DT at all.

any advice ??

Dino. Get a microscope. I'm dealing with ostreopsis and it bubbles, it's also toxic and when you blackout and it dies it releases toxins. Killed all my livestock and acros.

U can turkey baster suck that stuff out but it will just keep growing back unless you provide something else or have other algaes to grow off the nutrients when u remove it.

Ok its not possible you had both? Just cuz you thought you saw dino in a small pinpoint view of the microscope...means go buy this and that product and add it to the tank?
Again im confused...

Well first I never go to the chemical route on things, I try to resolve naturally. Secondly I trust a microscope over your eyes haha. Y'all have a goodnight now
