I am looking to change from 3 250 watt 14k mh with 4 96 watt pc actinic to an led set up. I know nothing about led lighting. Ive read diy is the way to go but wouldnt know where to begin. The tank is an aga 180. I am limited in space above the tank as well because it sits in a cubby under the stairs. I have about a 1500$ budget. I live in baltimore and any help i can get would b greatly appreciated

How many 165w led lights do u think i would need on a 6' long 180. I was thinking 6 of them

3 would be enough, 4 if you wanted overlapping light with no shadow.

Can u put any type of controller on any of these lights. Saw some 165 watt on ebay off of the link u sent that i liked

I have the one linked off ebay. It doesn't need a controller, you have to adjustments for them, blue dimmer and white-red dimmer.
Some of the others like the Hydra need a controller or you have to push a button to get them on at a certain percentage everytime, unless its at 100%. And if you wanted color control.
