So , I have new 100gpd membranes, all new filters, I added another carbon block and another Di canister it’s now a 7 stage RO unit with a little buddy booster pump. I checked and double checked all my connections for accuracy, all good. My TDS is 8 before the water hits th DI resin . And even worse after the resin like 18 tds . Does anyone know why ?? Only thing I can think of is to switch out the 100 gpd membranes down to 75 gpd membranes to slow the water pressure down ? My pressure gauge reads up in the red , lik 80 psi . Is that my problem? Anybody out there know ??

I spoke with Spectrapure and they said the optimum pressure is between 90-100. So I don’t think that it’s the problem. When I upgraded my RO membrane I had to adjust my flow restructure to the new rate. Not sure if that would help in your case but just an idea.

Yes I can cut the pressure back . BRS video recommends using 75 gpd and not 100 . Wondering if that’s also my problem? But why is tds higher after going through the DI resin?

Ohh, well I eliminated that because the little buddy booster pump is supposed to take care of that along with back flushing

I wonder? Maybe I should try putting it back on there , where does that go ? Right after the membranes?

I packed the di as tight as I could got just about the whole package in
I’m suspicious of the pressure gauge always reading in the red? It’s been an ongoing issue. But if spectapure states 90to 100 they’re the experts I reckon, and that’s the brand I have

Assuming that you ran the system for a couple of hours before you measured 18 (work in time is required on new DI) then the water maybe bypassing the actual media. (Sidestreaming)

I would flush the unit, replace the DI, run for an hour and test.

I didn’t run it that long maybe 15 minutes, I’ll keep checking it then. I will say the first DI canister is half exhausted and the second is new yesterday

I need to run for at least an hour or my going in to DI 5 stays 5.

That being said, I’ve never had an increase after DI.

Yeah that’s what’s got me confused I’m running it right now and it’s been bout 30 minutes and still have 8 after membranes and 18 after DI ! what the heck !!! And second carbon and DI filter are new this morning

I’d only run 1 DI canister and while we want it packed, not overnight.

Your numbers indicate that DI is adding to TDS?

Can’t say I’ve ever seen that.

Yes , that’s what I’m seeing. I use BRS color changing resin . I’m assuming one 1&1/4 pound package is one fill
