The Jaboa 15000 finally quit so using the spare. Received it used (with tank) and has been a great return pump but looking to upgrade.

Considering the Reef Octopus Varios 8 or the Ecotech Vectra L2? Or ?

I have an Apex controller but also have the reeflink / MP 40's / and Radion lights

This is for the display tank in living room so definitely looking for quiet.

The 15000 also was really oversized for my needs and usually ran on lowest or next to lowest setting. Was very quiet running that way with minimal vibration so im fine with doing the same again.

Thanks for all suggestions.

Thanks for suggestion. I shyed away from them because heard they loud and a few bad reviews. I like the idea of it becasue of the apex though. What r your thoughts on noise level and water volume? How long u been running it?

I’d get another jebao. Will last just as long as the 4x more expensive ones. And most features are just gimmicks anyway

Thanks for the input. I definitely thought about it. The Jobao had many years use on it before I got it and seemed to always work amazingly well till now.

Mines honestly completely silent so not sure why some have complained of noise.

Thanks! Looks like we r practically neighbors. Haha. Im just south of u in the Salem area.

Where at in the area? I have a niece who lives in Kaiser. I have been wanting to start a clown tank for her kids, so if you know any good fish stores in the area, that would be great.

There is really just one in town called "The Premium Aquarium" and located by the Salem Airport. The other good one I know about is uo your way Upscales in Tualitin.

I got a l2. Good pump. Quiet and good flow.

Downside. You can’t connect it to apex. Not sure if they’re going to fix that or not.
Has the wireless. I tried a bunch of times.
Read online no support for it.

But you can shut it down via outlet for feeding and maintenance. But you can do that with any pump.

If I knew it wasn’t compatible I would have got another brand.

Thanks for your insights Do u have a reeflink to control it? I do have the reeflink for lights, etc. But it kind of suks. And why Im hesitant to go with the ecotech pump since wont work with apex any better than a Jabao

I just have the apex. I was going to get one but they suggest to use it in constant for a return pump and variable if a stand alone.
So seeing I'm just constant speed I didn’t get the reef link.

I do like the ease of adjusting the flow.

I have a simplicity I replaced it with. They are good pumps too. Not to expensive, not quite the build quality of the l2 but good none the less. No connectivity on that brand but comes with a controller like the l2. Just a constant speed controller.
