I saw a couple pop up recently, however, keep in mind I still haven’t dosed again after my first one in (October?) maybe it was November I forget exactly. But long time still gone. There are couple now but not plague proportions.

I would give it a shot if I were you. I also found, now that my tank is more grown in with coral and I struggle to keep enough nutrients. The algae is outcompeted and just dies.

Well it's been about a year and I've had decent success, but not without losing all my SPS corals. The three photos are before and after. The approach I've used is what many have recommended. I stopped dosing (B-ionic), lowered light intensity dramatically and have tried to maintain higher nutrient levels by feeding more often.

I wanted to follow up one last time because I decided a few weeks ago to completely start over, remove everything, temporarily house the fish and start with new rock and sand. I did not try ReefFlux but that was my next step until I decided to completely start over. This Neomeris can definitely be managed and reduced if not completely controlled but in order to do that it seems you need to make the water parameters like a FOWLR lower light tank.

I think I finally beat this terrible, horrible, unrelenting nuisance algae (I think). I’ve made no chemistry changes but kept trying to find a predator to control, here is what I tried:
-Foxface
-Dolobolla Sea Hare
-Various tangs
-Tuxedo Urchin (~25)
-black long spine urchin (2)
-Emerald crabs (~6)
-Turbo snails (couple dozen)
-Pitho crabs (~12-18)

The first seven did absolutely nothing, once in awhile I’ll see the long spine eat some but it prefers coralline algae. The Pitho crabs, on the other hand, are the key, they have mowed it down to nothing in about 3 months. I now how to look for stalks that are randomly here and there, they are then gone a week later and other small ones appear and again they mow them down. I feel very confident they are keeping it in check. I can’t express how happy it makes me to look at my tank and not be angered by these green stalks of hell. Not to mention not having to spend 3-4 hours picking them from the tank every 3 weeks and feeling like it’s a loosing battle. Also let’s not forget the alk challenge, constantly tweaking the calcium reactor. Alk would shoot up a week after harvesting then once growth became established 2 weeks later alk would drop and I’d have to double calcium reactor output.
