I'm looking into adding my final 1-2 fish to my IM 20g mixed reef. With my current stocking list I don't have much to chose from (when considering aggression, feeding styles, aquascape etc.). I'm looking into adding at least 1 neon goby but would be great if I can add a pair. My current fish:

2x Ocellaris Clowns (extreme davinci)
1x Helfrich's Firefish
1x Royal Gramma.
1x Captive Bred Biota Green Mandarin

They all get along just fine. Before the Mandarin police chime in I'd like to add that this one eats pellets and I feed the tank 3 times a day and he has been growing rapidly for a year now.

Need some advice, single or can I push the limits with a pair?

I think its your choice, none of us can know how it will turn out

I'd stick to just one. I had two goby cleaners and one would beat the hell out of the other (had to get rid of the bully). It's a toss-up as to what the outcome might be.
