So I bought the Neptune Apex and hooked it up. All connections are OK.

I have 3 heaters plugged into it (3,5,6). They are to come on when temp is < 76 and off when temp is >80. The issue is that none of the heaters are coming on. I have to turn them on manually.

Here is what I have done so far.

1. Upgraded the Firmware to the latest.
2. Tried unplugging and retrying all connections (multiple times).
3. Initialize the outlets using the Menu.
4. Set the failback to off for the heater outlets.

I am stumped at this time. I also tried to change the control type of the outlet from heater to light. Even then it does not turn on the heater (8 - 8 PM setting for light).

I have two LED in 1 and 2 and they are working fine.

Any ideas what is going on? Is the EB8 unit bad?

Start simple, Are your heaters programmable themselves? If yes what temp are they set too, they must be set higher than your highest programmed temp to remain on while the outlet is on (maybe 82 deg).

If not the heaters check the programming and socket. Are you programming from the computer or from the display. Try from the computer exactly like this with advanced programming

If Temp < 76 Then ON
If Temp > 81 Then OFF

Hit update outlet ten see what happens. If this doesn't work try this

Set ON

Then update outlet, this can test the outlet. It will display whether or not the outlet is on in the status screen.

Let me know how this works out.

Sorry, but I have already tried this. I have wasted all day on this today. It is very very frustrating ..

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Do you have a temp controller on the heater itself also ?
If you don't and something goes wrong with the Apex connection to the DC8 the "fallback ON" statement will put the outlet in the ON function and your heater will never shut off.

With your Heater programmed "set ON" it is continuously on. This line needs to be deleted from your code. The set function is for things that continually run like return pumps. I don't remember if the apex reads bottom to top or top to bottom, but that line is useless for your code.

@Monroe, what results did my suggestions provide?

True. I forgot to mention that. The ON statement is useless
The Apex reads from top to bottom
