I know the Manual says they are not USB ports. But can I use standard USB cables? Would just be a lot easier during set up if I had to run out and grab a USB cable vs ordering an aquabus cable and waiting
 
Yes, AquaBus cables are simply USB 2.0 cables, but with one exception: The cable cannot contain any signal repeater/booster device. These are commonly found on USB cables longer than 5 meters in order to comply with the USB specification. However, the repeaters operate on 5 volts, but AquaBus sends 12 volts through the cable, so the repeaters are not compatible.
