Neptune auto feeder mount

Has anyone encountered anything the lets you mount a Neptune auto feeder further out over the tank? Like maybe a 3d printed adapter that raises it up a 1/2 inch and out from the side a 3/4 inch.

My Top Lids net covers have feeding cups in the back that telescope down into the water, but some of the food hits the edge of the cup and doesn't make it into the tank.

There’s some 3d print files out there you can try…. If it’s anything like mine was it was just easier to slide the afs forward (still on the base but just not securely clipped in) and use a rubber band or zip tie to hold it to the mount if that makes any sense.

The 3d print files out there that I found were for rimless tanks, there’s different spacing for glass thickness. But they placed the afs in the exact same spot. I changed one to move the afs forward but I actually prefer the rubber band method myself as it’s just easier for maintenance and all.

I have been sliding them forward, but one of my feeders almost fell in the tank today. Not the first close call. I was hoping someone had come up with something like an adapter that clips into the afs mount and to the bottom of the afs that lifts it up and a little forward.

I guess I could wrap some velcro around them or something. I don''t have a 3d printer. Was hoping someone had something for sale.

On the printables, cults3d, and yeggi website, there are options to purchase prints if you see one that will fit your needs. If you post in the 3d printed parts archive section on here, someone may jump in and help you out.

Oh, another thing that might work, depending on your application, is to just put some sort of spacers to the original mount. Like a spacer on top of the glass (under the bracket) tall enough to lift it, and one behind the bracket that sits against the glass to space it forward. There’s quite a bit of adjustment of the bracket if that’s an option.

The problem is that my net covers have custom cutouts for my light mounts and AFS. So there isn't really room to attach something to the tank or add a spacer. There is just enough room for the AFS mount to slide in behind the net cover.

That's why I was looking for a spacer that attached to the AFS mount. Just a piece of plastic that had the bottom of an AFS on the bottom of it and the top of the AFS mount on the top of it. So it could clip in between them.

I'll take a look at the print files that you listed above.

I would also post up in that 3d archive forum I linked above. Someone may have something or be willing to make you something. Peeps here are typically pretty cool in that regard

I needed the same thing. Just reversed the mount. Trimmed the tabs on the bottom of the feeder back a little bit. This lets the feeder sit flush in the mount.
