Neptune WAV failed again?

How long should we expect a powerheads to last? I bought 2 WAV's in December of 2016. Didn't even get them wet until March of 2017. They both quit working months after the warranty expired, around June 2018. I give Neptune credit they repaired one and replaced the other. However now a year later both have completely stopped. When the first quit they said it wasn't worth trying to repair, so they offered to let me buy a replacement for half price. I accepted and have not had time to submit a help request for the second. I have cleaned these things with vinager every couple of months. Should we expect that powerheads are only going to last a couple of years or less?

Make sure that they both really failed. When one of mine shorted out, it disabled all the others that shared the 1link. As soon as I removed the shorted pump, the other two started up again.
