Neuclear Energy :D

Burning Hydrocarbons (natural Gas included) does not decrease Carbon forms from being the bi-product.

Neuclear Energy was put on permanent pause due to certain groups of very nice folks who rightly were concerned about the safety and disposal of waste as well as the rare and sad incidents where the plants have had failure.

There is thought that the most obvious reason no current N.E. plants are being built is due to "big oil". But I really don't want to go there. :D

My personal solution to our "Carbon Footprint" and foreign oil is to change to Neuclear as well as solar, hydro, and solar powers respectively. From there since we have such ability to create millions of Mega Watts of energy, why not start making electric cars, Cars that would run on something similar to a bumper car system. Electric furnaces, electric everything and the cost of said electicity would be exceptionally small.

On the carbon footprint thing america does so much to help out but it is time to place the strain on some of the larger countries to "go green" to help out. It doesn't matter if your family of 3 is throwing garbage in the cans and the garbage company taking it away, if your nighbor of 5 is throwing garbage in the yard.

sorry for the rant! :D

I'm all for nuclear power. We are not the Soviet Union and this is not 20-30 years ago. I'm sure that the technology today is a ton different and with better trained staff.

Pretty sure we'd do just fine with nuclear power. Americans seem to hear nuclear power and think it is the end of world being put into place. It isn't. We're just afraid. As someone mentioned, in Europe nuclear power is popular yet they are still here and doing just dandy (probably laughing at us).

The waste is certainly an issue but why not store it until there is a solution to the issue and just get the ball rolling? I think that is what we are doing now (storing but not building any new facilities). There has to be uses for it that are environmentally safe.

That is very true the term seems to be thought of as a potential neuclear explosion as seen with Hiroshima.

Is anyone out there against N.E.? It seems that everyone is for it! I will add that those "hot Lakes" will still be hot if N.E. were to be used on them.
