Hi, I have a small cube 2.2 gallon rimless, looking to get cycling. I am thing a softie or two, maybe clove /star polyps and/or anthelia with some her,it’s snails and shrimp, unsure if too small for a fish
I will have small ato and mini hob filter for water movement and tiny bit of carbon
Thoughts/suggestions welcome. Just waiting on a heater, have a 50 w but worried might be too much for size, and no controller yet- spent enough on the 55 setup so far :)

any thoughts on water movement - i like the idea of surface agitation from this little hob filter but it is not the best piece of equipment (cost a whole 9$) - i dont think there are powerheads strong enough- considering an air stone with tuned in low flow so not a bubble filled cube
any thoughts appreciated

Cycle slowly progressing, or the nh3 is evaporating off .used 1/2 recommended amount of nh3 dr Tim’s and dosed his and biospira bacteria, day 8 now

No2=0
No3=0
Lighting have standard hood leds from petco hood kit , 2 double strips 18” long each double strip labeled 9.6w can’t find other info,white
The other more blue nilipal,18w led
Both hanging 8” above tank
Have the small hob filter (ordered a tiny powerheads (hoping small enough) to try instead
Small heater on a controller, clicks on usually for 30 sec then off,funny
Interesting to keep salinity, small amount water used for testing, need to replace :)

I saw a youtube video and got the photone app, which is pretty neat - unlike the cheap lights on the 55 giving me 45-55 par in the tank, this small blue light gives 150 above the surface (in the water proof bag) and 200 without
45-55 par mid down the tank - unable to get the phone in further - but with the white lights this goes up to 150
keeping a few softies or even an lps should be fine

I have not updated lately,but some changes
Nanos are tough, really need daily maintenance

Due to the ato overtopping off due to small volume, I switched to a 5 gallon, doing well, have 3 sexy shrimp, a peppermint shrimp, 2 snails and a hermit. Added some softies, have had to turn down the lights to keep them happy
My shy shrimp had the zoomies tonite and had to share

Got some Live rock from Tampa Bay saltwater along with sand - more sand than I thought I ordered, instead of spreading in the 29 and 55 gallon, I decided to change the 5 gallon to a 10, so put it all in here along with 8 pounds live rock and 5 pounds sand from the tank. Found a special hitchhiker already that swam to the front of the tank - ? scallop
