Hey @cilyjr yes my tank is in garage, few things that work for me -

1) I am near coast
2) my garage is dug up

My temp max is 82-83 - so I just use an evaporation fan which helps by a few degrees. I have a chiller but that’s reserve for very very hot days (when ambient is closer to 100 )

Right on. I am up in Pismo Beach about 3 hours north of you. So I don't run anything for cooling either. I work in HVAC so my home has central air.
I know down in your area can get pretty hot not that far away from the coast so I was curious.

Yeah I am less than 1/4 mile from ocean on peninsula - so it doesn’t get that hot but it has its days ! Atleast for next 7 months hopefully no need.

You'll probably be fine. How cold does it get there? A buddy of mine here has a full frag system in his garage. Because his garage is not insulated at all it cost him almost an extra $200 a month to run in the winter. Our winters are usually about 50° at night but you can see 45 sometimes.

same here winters get to around 50s but below that rarely - primarily rely on heater and winter temp is usually 75 range - so far never had a problem with corals due to temp swing
