All depends on budget and tools available to you.

I would go with new stand whether bought or built with more storage.

Stands are so dang expensive this tank is supposed to be my upgrade from my fluval evo 13.5 but its looking like I might just sell the new fijicube and get something else.

If you have a local petsmart they have some nice looking cheap stands now. Also some 2x4s, screws, and paint could work. Check out youtube.

Another reefer reached out said to use 5mm or 3/16 mdf or underlaminate for the top maybe I'll check lowes out i plan on keep plants with a white light underneath why I wanted an open concept stand.

Butcher block?
I thought this would be the best looking option for altering the current stand too. I worried about the weight but see that stand can hold 660lbs
