New 75 gal bought with rubber bottom

So I got a good deal on a 75 acrylic but it has some rubber stuff on the bottom I don’t know what it is he said it was to keep the rock in place should I take this stuff out? It’s almost like a paint

Not enough info for an informed comment. If I were you, I'd go back to the seller and find out more about what it is and why it's there.

It's possible a photo here might help... maybe.

If you dont know exactly what it is and the seller cant give full info about it, I would take it out and, optional, replace it with something you trust.
