Finally picked one up yesterday. He was munching on a chocolate star when I got him. He's picked one of the front corners if the tank to hang out in. I'm going to give him a few days to start hunting my Asterina stars, if he doesn't ill get him a chocolate star to feast on. Since I plan in doing it when the others are gone anyways. I've got to tanks for him to eat out of buffet style. Lol. Figured d show him off.:)

I've had mine a while to eat all mine, its easily been 6 months and he is still kicking... there are noticeably less asterinas but they are still there. Just waiting for the day I don't see any more so I can trade or give him to the next reefer. I thought they would be gone months ago, maybe he is farming them in my tank now. I see him in the middle of the night most of the time... well if I'm up in the middle of the night.

Very cool. I've got 2 tanks to bounce him in between. Trying to talk the wife into a 3rd and 4th. Lol. I'll substitute chocolate stars if I need to. Would really like him to keep permanent residence. But, ill move him to other hobbyist tanks if I think he is starving. They are so cool to watch.

What an interesting creature....and beautiful too. I love how their claws are designed like spatulas to pry starfish off of their strongholds....so smart. I have used them to eradicate asterina in my systems in the past....with success. I have noticed that the bigger ones won't mess with the smaller asterinas.....but so mixing harlequin sizes seems to work best....but eventually number should go low enough to pass him on......if you can catch him.
