Hey ya’ll here goes my new build stuffs: The tank and equipment were all picked up on FB marketplace
-Tank: 20 gallon AIO cube
-Rock: went back and forth on this but ultimately decided to go with live rock
-Sand: CaribSea Bahamas Oolite Live sand
-Filter: So far thinking a simple 1 micron sock (I swear by these things) will do
-Powerhead-little no name one, might pick up one with a much lower profile though
- RO/DI: LiquaGen, while it has taken my TDS to 0 from a little over 300 (well water) on the 1st 10 gallons not sure how long that will last as this was a really inexpensive 4 stage RO/DI
-instant Ocean salt
-Plan is to pick up a clownfish pair next weekend

Will definitely add pics when I get the water and everything in the tank. Holding off until refractometer gets here bc the ORAPxI I got with the tank is reading my LFS bought water ( got 5 gallon for the
Rocks) at 28.7 ppt so want to make sure the batch I mixed up is ok or if I need to adjust.

Got the tank set up last night and running- Couldn’t see a thing in there after adding the water so took a pic this morning-light is on in pic just testing it out!

Still a little sketchy about my salinity readings. Tested some saltwater I saved from my LFS with a refractometer (ATC) and is reading 1.021 and the saltwater in my tank which includes what I mixed is at 1.025. Calibrated with RODI as this refractometer didn’t come with any solution-I may pick up a little bottle this week.

No ammonia, not expecting much of a spike but gonna check the next few days just in case

Tank came with 2 digital Hanna Checkers that look promising-more geared toward coral as one is Calcium and I think Mag (me likes) but wanna get everything settled 1st.

Bought a branching hammer coral and a budget torch-should be delivered Thursday!

2 Clowns and 1 Coral
Clowns from my local LFS and the Branching Hammer from Lucky Corals
Everything looking super healthy so far! The coral began opening up immediately after putting it in the tank and clowns are active and vibrant!
