I think we are going to order the Infinia Reef 230.6.https://waterboxaquariums.com/products/infinia-reef-230-6#techspecs I am wondering how cost effective is the complete reef ready setup vs. the aquarium/stand setup. Do you come out better? I mean if you buy comparable equipment? Is it overbuilt or just about right?

If I shop for each I item I need and buy midrange on price will it be cheaper? I know it gives for flexibility and choices but I don't know that I care that much. I may after the fact. LOL

I only plan to keep live rock, fish, and easy medium to low light soft corals and inverts. I do not want anything that is hard to keep, hard to feed or need special additives in the water (i.e. calcium or magnesium). I had a reef tank years ago for a few years and this is what we had and we were happy. We only had fluorescent lights and still kept a lot of interesting and beautiful softies. We do want better lights, which seems inevitable with LED these days so we can have more choices of soft coral but I don't need the high lighting that SPS need.

Thank you so much!

I think buy a new tank and used equipment is the way to go if you want to save money. Many buy new and quit within a year so you get huge discount
