NEW BTA DYING??

Looks like it has totally expelled its guts. Has been like this ever since I put him in there a day ago. This is my first BTA so idk if hes just acclimating or dying. Any help is much appreciated! The parameters are normal. Cal 450 alk 8 mag 1450 nitrate 2 phos 0. Kessil a360x.

9 months. It didn’t look to hot when I got it but I just figured that was because of shipping

They do pretty strange things while acclimating to new conditions... What's temp and salinity? My nems would get angry when salinity gets below 1.024

I’ll check. The tanks stay at about 79 degrees and the salinity is 1.025

Should I try moving him or anything? He’s not attached he just sitting on the sand bed lifeless.

I agree, let it be for now. The last thing you want to do is stress it more. Nems are pretty hardy and can bounce back from extremes. I have one from a recent split that we named "Kamikazee". It's made multiple suicide attempts first into an overflow causing a white milky/cloudy mess in tank. Rescued it from there and it proceeded to climb into a powerhead & luckily only lost tips of a few tentacles. Put in an acclimation (penalty box) for a week then released it to sandbed - now it's on it's own rock and my 2 gold-nugget clowns are camped in it.

Update: I read they start to smell bad if they are dying and to pick them up to check and I did. It smells like nothing at all so I just moved him up on something dimmed the lights down and turned my power head off I just want him to attach to something idc if he moves but I would like if he would grab onto something

Yea that's kind of sign they're dying, I think yours is just acclimating and I wouldn't touch it anymore & let it get use to surroundings.

If you see it literally dissolving. When they die they turn into almost a unrecognizable puddle and you'll know because it will smell really bad.
